-Hi, could you give me information about allergens in the three varieties of Kids Bars? Are any of the top 9 allergens present where these bars are made?
As part of our commitment to food safety, we test each Kid's Bar and Rice Crispy production run for the allergens produced in the facility before they are distributed to our vendors and consumers.
Our Kids’ bars are made in a specific, dedicated, and certified peanut-free facility where the production line is cleaned between each and every run. Even though the facility is a certified dedicated peanut-free facility, we still choose to test for peanuts in every run as well.
-Can you also tell me which of the top 9 allergens are present on the lines where the Kids Bars and Crispy treats are made? (I know the facility is peanut-free, just wondering about other allergens).
I'll be more than happy to help you with this request. While we don't have an answer right now, we'll be escalating this to our team to find the information you are looking for and once they reply back we will let you know.
-Okay, thank you.
Hello,
Our team got back to us with the information you requested. The facility where our bars are made handles Milk, Egg (and egg derivatives), and Soy. The plant also processes coconut on the same line. Even though coconut is botanically a drupe (stone fruit/fruit with hard layers around it), it is considered a tree nut for the purpose of allergen declarations.
Hope you find this information helpful.
Please let me know if you have any other questions, I am here to help! Thank you so much for your support to This Saves Lives!
-Thank you, this is definitely helpful. Can I just clarify; this is for the Kids Bars? Does this also apply for the Crispy treats (I know that those actually contain egg)? Thanks!
That's correct. Our kids' snack bars and kids' crispy treats are handled in the same facility. Just keep in mind that we test each Kid's Bar and Rice Crispy production run for the allergens produced in the facility before they are distributed to our vendors and consumers.
If you have any other questions or requests do not hesitate to let us know. We will be more than happy to assist you.
Have an amazing day!
-Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your time to provide these details.
